Golden Visa programmes offer qualifying real estate investors the opportunity to obtain long-term residency. Depending on the jurisdiction, these programmes may also extend to spouses, dependent children and other eligible family members. Residence permits are generally renewable, provided the applicable legal requirements continue to be met.

Citizenship by Investment programmes provide qualifying investors with the opportunity to apply for citizenship, subject to strict legal, financial and governmental approval procedures.

Spain has discontinued its former Golden Visa programme for real estate investors.
The purchase of property no longer provides an automatic route to residency under the former investment programme. Alternative residence options may still be available depending on individual circumstances.
Germany does not offer a Golden Visa or residency programme based solely on the acquisition of real estate.
However, entrepreneurs, investors and self-employed individuals may qualify for residency through business investment or entrepreneurial activity, subject to the applicable legal requirements.
